The Gan Airport project is based on a real international airport located in the southern part of the Maldives, which serves as a key entry point to less commercialized islands. The focus of this work was to visually present the airport environment in a way that reflects travel, scale, and a sense of place rather than just showing infrastructure.
Unlike product-based projects, this wasn’t about selling a single item. The challenge was capturing an entire environment—an airport that represents connectivity, tourism, and movement. Airports already have a functional and structured layout, so the design couldn’t feel flat or generic. It needed to show depth, realism, and context while still keeping the visuals clean and easy to interpret.
Another challenge was avoiding over-complication. With elements like runways, terminals, and surroundings, it’s easy for the composition to feel crowded or unfocused.
- The approach focused on composition and perspective to bring clarity to a complex environment. The visuals were structured to guide attention toward key elements while still maintaining the overall scale of the airport. Instead of overloading details, the design balances realism with simplicity so the scene feels complete but not overwhelming.
- This allows the client to use the design effectively across presentations, digital showcases, or creative portfolios while clearly communicating the setting and purpose of the project.
